Washer does not take as long as my past washers. Cleans well and no complaints. You can stop the load faster than other washers. Only small complaint is that it spins the water out so well that the clothes get twisted.

Doesn't Clean, Didn't Last & Makes a Fuzzy Mess

I bought this washer because of the fantastic rebate from Southern California Gas Company. I figure how bad could it be---Well I've been following instructions and it really doesn't clean well. First there was soap all over the clothes-. The manual says use two rinses, I did that. If something is like a plush blanket the fuzz never gets cleaned off--especially the cockle-burs. Recently it stops at the green wash light and just stops. I understand that is a clogged pump. Now I have buy a pump and hire a repair shop. This started happening at less than three years old. My previous washer lasted 16 years, inside it there was a lint catcher. The repair guy told me that I should brush off all my clothes before washing them-----that's the reason why I bought a washer to clean the dirt off of my clothes. Since I hang my clothes out to dry, the lint on the clothes doesn't pill off in the dryer. I can't believe that Whirlpool is still making and selling this model. Since the pandemic I don't have the funds to buy a new washer. I usually never buy extended warranties because I'm only one person doing less than three loads of wash a month. I'm in southern California and don't even wash that much heavy winter clothes like jeans and jacket. Forget trying to clean comforters or blankets they are covered with fuzz and lint. The "hot" water wash is never hot it's slight warm even though I have hot water connected. I would be happy to send you the pump when it is removed so that you can see what has happened to the washer in such a very short time, if you would send a pump. I have not been able to call because the phone lines are very busy. I understand we are in a pandemic---but I still need to wash my clothes. I'm hand washing what I can until I can get the money for the repair and the pump. I used the Washing Machine Citrus Cleaner to see if that helped and it still stops at the green light. I'm wandering if there is some kind of long brush I can put through the hose to clean it out. Two YouTube videos describe the exact same problem with Whirlpool machines. My old Maytag used to have a lint catcher on the top of the agitator is there an aftermarket lint catcher. The washer I had previous to this one was front loader and had a lint catcher with a door that I could clean it out.

Fabric Damage: Stay away from this washer

I would stay away from any washer of this brand that does not have a automatic bleach dispenser. I have had several items of clothing destroyed because residual bleach remains after being poured in the bleach dispenser. Its no use calling out a repair person since the dispenser is not automatic and therefore no warranty exists. All they will do is charge you $80 for literally less than a 15 min visit and tell you to use affresh tablets after every wash where bleach is used. How would you ever know this unless you came across a review like mine??? I will never buy another wash machine without an automatic bleach dispenser, and much less another Whirlpool. Thanks for customer service that was not customer service.

I purchased this washer on 05/20/18. In December of 2019 it stopped working - as in nothing even turned on. I waited a week for a repairman, then was told it needed a new control board, & other parts. He called Whirlpool to find out if they would replace the board. The Whirlpool employee said yes. It would be another 10 plus days and other parts would not be covered. All I could see was the washer needing repair after repair. So I purchased another washer, but not a Whirlpool.

Don't buy this machine!

Extremely disgruntled 9/5/2018

I have had my machine 2 years and it has never worked well. Many times the clothes are not even completely wet when they come out. Water doesn't go in except by a trickle even though there's much pressure going into the machine from the lines. Now the machine has started going through the cycle until it rinses and drains then it goes back to the wash cycle light and will not spin. With every load I have to go back and put the setting on drain/spin, then it will spin. Very inconvenient! Whirlpool tells me to call the serviceman after only 2 years! I tried Whirlpool because I wanted American made, but I will be going back to GE now.

Water level doesn't even cover one load of sheets on the "sheets" cycle! If water doesn't fill in time, the cycle times out and then the cycle stops and you have to restart this stupid machine. Takes a good hour to wash a load of clothes.

This washer was a tremendous upgrade from our previous washer, a Maytag wringer washing machine. The new Whirlpool washer connects directly to the house plumbing, no more filling with a hose and draining off the edge of the porch. I should have bought her a washing machine that we could use in the house when the current washing machine got old, in 1959.

I would check out other washers before buying. Once you start the cycle it is locked and cannot be opened to add a missed peice or use the water to clean detergent cup. If a cycle is cancelled, I had to unplug to reset so the lid could be opened. Also the wash cycle seems to be longer the usual. No complaint on the cleaning.

Did not ever fathom despising a washing machine; purchased this six months ago, six months of misery with this thing, and I have used possibly/probably hundreds. This thing will give you pain and frustration as well as hard work (get a board and go to the river!) Six months hence, "take it away" and also dryer although dryer is Fair to OK but want matching set; back to GE and FAST! Getting to be an expensive endeavor, but I could abide this thing NO longer!

Ordered this washer to match a dryer I already had. I ordered online to be delivered from Loews. I absolutely hate this washer. It has no agitator & picks its own water levels. I have taken clothes out of dryer that are still dry even after choosing a high water level. It also twists clothes up to where they are tangled together. Also, lint is a big problem with this washer. It is up to the dryer to get lint off wet clothes. I should have returned it, but thought I would adapt. Single person so did not use enough to get a good idea on all the works. Lid also locks once washer starts. So sorry I bought this & did not return..

I am waisting my TIDE!!!

I am very disappointed in the perfomance of my new low- water washer!!! I just purchased this supposedly high Efficiency washer and i am working harder than my great grand mother to get the soap out of the dry cloths!!! And this is after the cycle is over!! I should be able to load the cloths the way the manufacturer tells me to, use the proper expensive detergent that is recommended for said product and wait for my clean cloths to come out to dry!! Instead i am working harder to wash cloths than i ever had to in my life$! It is very upsetting when you are expecting clean cloths but you receive cloths that was never touched by water!!! I shouldent finish a cycle woth detergent on my cloths period!!! Bad products!!! Never again!!!

We have a new washer unfortunately it does a really lousy job in cleaning the water does not cover the clothes, so you have to do more smaller loads which negates the water conservation aspect of the new machines. You have to move the clothes around in the middle of the cycle. Give me my old washer back!!

I bought this washer a few months ago for a rental. Between renters, I am testing it. It makes terrible sounds like it is broken. It does not allow enough water to go in to rinse clothes properly. It does not distribute soap properly clothes comes out with spots of soap on it. I wish I had my old washer back.

I can't wait for this washer to break. The washer goes by the weight of the clothes so you can't pack it with lightweight clothes or they won't get clean. Even using "deep water wash" doesn't help. Often when the cycle is complete, I have to take half of the load out and respin it in sections to get the water out. I hate this washer.

We have had this machine for 3 years and it hasn't lived up to the expectations of a Whirlpool product. In the 3 years of ownership, the appliance repair people have been to our residence a average of twice a year. Most of the repair work has been to replace the motherboard that control all of the operations of the machine. They were out here today to fix the problems again and told us the repairs this time would be over 500 dollars. We are going to find a new machine to replace it; it won't be a Whirlpool.

My washing machine is 4 years old and the repairman stated the main bearings are frozen. Parts and labor to repair over $500. There are only 2 people in our home so this product was not used an extreme amount of times. I bought this product on the Whirlpool name, thinking it was a long standing company, they would be making dependable equipment. I was wrong.

I have always purchased Whirpool products on all my appliances and have never been disappointed until now. Our clothing will come out party dry because it's not dispensing enough water. Clothes still smell dirty and there are detergent stains because the HE detergent is getting on the dry part of clothes with not enough water to break it down. Not sure if their is a sensor problem on the water levels, but there is definitely an issue.
