Disappointed in Whirlpool

I would not recommend this product and obviously neither would Whirlpool since it is no longer being sold. We have had it only two years, and of course the warranty is only for 1 year because they do not stand behind this product. We have never had cold water from the water dispense which we always thought was odd, but we were told it is normal.... Now the lights dimmed, then the freezer light completely died. Plus the icemaker stopped working all together today. Called Whirlpool for information and they told us to unplug it for a few minutes and then turn it back on to see if that would help. Well it didn't. So now we have to waste our money on a new one. Product should at least last longer than two years. quoted that it would be over $100 just to have someone come out and diagnose the issue!!!

I bought this a short while ago and am so pleased with the refrigerator/freezer. I had a test run for the spill proof shelves when a bag of frozen fish tore and began to leak. As it was limited to the shelf it was on, I was pleased to avoid a total clean out. My only criticism of the appliance is that it is not as tall as my previous similar side by side. It seems to hold a bit less capacity. The lighting inside is superior to our last fridge.

I am disappointed, some of the finishing touches aren't there! I had a different brand side by side for eighteen years. This is the same size. The drawers don't slide well at all, the hinges on the top aren't covered with plastic covers which makes it look cheap. Simple little things make a difference. I even went to the appliance store and asked where the covers were......

Our old fridge gave out after 17 years of continuous service and wanted to find one the same size and color.After reading reviews on several makes and recommendation from the appliance repairman we decided on Whirlpool. We have had Whirlpool appliances and they all were great.

It constantly rolls forward when opening the doors; there is no screw down stopper. The shelves do not goflush to the back, so items fall over or fall to the lower shelf. The freezer door cannot open all the way, so it is difficult to access the items without the door constantly hitting you. The ice dispenser throws ice all over the floor and the compartment is not tall enough to accommodate refilling a water bottle. The front door should have the textured finish, not the sides, instead it is smooth and easily scratched.If there was anyway we could exchange this frig for another without a financial lose we would.

I love the actual refrigerator, but the noise it makes when running is so loud I can hear it from the other room. I have had people ask me what the noise is in my kitchen! Repair Tech said that is normal operating noise!!

I bought this as my options were very limited. Not many choices when looking for bisque colored appliances. Did not want water/ice thru the door, what a waste of freezer space. I removed the ice maker to free up 35% extra freezer space. And added an extra shelf instead of the icemaker. My house is accented with light oak and my kitchen appliances are all bisque, to purchase the item I wanted I would have to pay an additional $1250.00 and that was dealing with a scratch and dent dealer. So far it is performing excellent.

Went specifically looking for a bisque refrigerator. Was not a fan of Whirlpool, as I had never owned one. My last was another brand and was still running great after 18 years. It was merely a color thing. Hooked it up Sunday and had service here on Tuesday. No water pressure to ice maker or water in door. Easy fix the line was crimped under the freezer door. Service was exceptional and refrigerator is working fine. Love all the shelves and drawers,

I needed a new refrigerator in bisque and quickly of course. Not many big retail stores even carry this color anymore. Found this model online, priced it out at a couple of stores and purchased the same day. Large, doors open wide, easy to adjust shelves and had ice quickly after plugging it in.

I really like the height of my new refrigerator. I also like the way the light shows on the water, ice thru the door. It's like a night light in my kitchen. My older whirlpool was alittle bit bigger and it is a bit to soon to see if the room is comparable or not.

I've only had this fridge for a week.I am somewhat comparing it to my old Whirlpool side by side (which died recently after 19 years RIP...was an awesome fridge BTW).Plusses: Runs quietly, layout mostly good, door handle design is more simple yet looks good. Has "lock-out" feature on ice/water dispenser. Pretty simple to operate and has the right number of features. Ice cubes are decent sized (even though my water pressure is a little lower than recommended) and the crushed ice works well. Available in "bisque" which matched the rest of my appliances.Minuses: Doors have smooth surface instead of the textured like the rest of the fridge...the smooth surface doesn't hide dings as well as the textured. The freezer door has fewer shelves than the older models.Other gripes: Only has 1 dispenser that takes care of water AND ice...I miss the double setup my old fridge had, though not a big deal. The interior lights could turn on a little quicker. The gallon storage in the door seems to be a little warmer than in the rest of the fridge, I might try one of the higher shelves for milk storage. Ice cube maker a little louder than old fridge, but about the same in noise on the dispenser (fairly loud). It has built-in water filter which costs 50 bucks, though I may experiment with lower cost generic filters...I used a 15 buck inline filter on my old fridge which lasted 6 months like the 50 buck one.Overall a decent fridge so far. Not a "Plain Jane" model but not "Top of the Line" either. It's a good mid-range model that has the most useful features.

I am extremely pleased with my new Whirlpool Side by Side Refrigerator. With only 3 of us living here we didn't need the extra capacity of a huge fridge. It fits our lifestyle to a tee. The filtered water tastes great and there is no funny taste in the ice cubes. We use every inch of space and are very happy with our purchase.

The refrigerator is fine, however the time it took to get it was unacceptable. I ordered the refrigerator 9/5/16. I was told I would receive it 10/7/16. I got a call that it would be another 2 weeks. Then I got another call the following day to say it would be another 2 weeks. I didn't receive it until 2 months later on 11/6/16. To me this is unacceptable.

WE researched a number of Refrigerators and Whirlpool had the one thing we were looking for. The color. We have Bisc appliances and Whirlpool has that color. The features are also great. Crushed Ice and filtered water on the door is a real plus! We also like the LED Lighting and the clear top trays.The size of the unit was also a factor. It FIT!

I had to wait for delivery for over 3 weeks but it was worth the wait. I am very happy with the appearance and it seems to fit my opening better. The lighting is an excellent feature. The doors do not pull out easily. I was not expecting the ice cubes or crushed at to be pushed on in order to secure ice.I hope this not going to be a service call issue in the future. It looks Great and so far I am very happy with my purchase.

I bought this refrigerator about a week and a half ago. To replace a 15-year-old refrigerator. And because I'm not ready to redo my entire kitchen it had to fit in a certain spot. So I was limited on my choices because of the size needed. However I am very impressed with this model. It has a lot of bells and whistles and works great.

This was the only side by side that would fit our space and was not steel/chrome, so we had no choice. We were prepared to pay a lot more. This unit was very inexpensive...that can be seen in the quality of the drawers but otherwise seems quite adequate.

I got this and was very disappointed. The drawers at the bottom are very hard to push in and out. The ice maker sounds like it can barely make crushed ice. There isn't much cold water and it's loud. Only got it because of the size.
