Professional delivery and installation is available for every product we sell. We would be happy to coordinate delivery and installation for you.

Extended warranties are usually very inexpensive and can save you thousands in the future. Some can even cover extra costs that result, such as cost of food that spoils when your fridge dies. It's simple and inexpensive to purchase extended warranties and one of the smartest ways to protect your investment.

Appliances can be large, heavy and expensive. You probably don't have the special tools or expertise needed to fix them in a crisis. If you can spare a few thousand dollars without batting an eyelash for new appliances should they break tomorrow, don't buy a warranty. But if you're like most of us, protect yourself by purchasing inexpensive extended warranties when you buy a new product and save yourself big money in the long run.

So Far It's Excellent

MTPRAIRIE 11/1/2019

We have been using the dishwasher for about a month now. It replaced our beloved Sears Ultrawash, after 20+ years. This one is impressively quietly, loads easily and has been doing a great job cleaning our dishes!

Absolutely terrible. Broke three times in less than two years, and whirlpool did not offer any support. Will be sticking with LG and their longer warranties.

DO NOT RECOMMEND! WE BOUGHT THIS ORIGINALLY FROM HOME DEPOT AND LOVED IT INITIALLY, THEN ONE DAY IT JUST STOPPED DRYING AND WASHING OUR DISHES. VERY SAD!

Very disappointing - $ more to repair

Leverett 10/11/2019

We have had this dishwasher for maybe 3 years and have had multiple problems. The detergent dispenser has broken twice, the top rack broke and has been replaced and now it is not drying or thoroughly cleaning our dishes so I am sure the heating element will probably need to be replaced once I have someone in to diagnose. This dishwasher has cost more to repair than it is worth.

Extremely bad quality

ThomasD 9/29/2019

We bought this dishwasher 4 years ago and have replaced so far: - Lower rack wheels, they were plastic and after one year of use they kept falling off - Upper rack plastic rails - Entire tub assembly since the circulation pump did not work anymore - Drain pump This is the absolute worst dishwasher we had in a long time, and together with the quality problems we have with the Whirlpool oven we lost our confidence in this brand.

Adjustable top rack is great!

Trish's dishwasher review 9/9/2019

Love the adjustable top rack for taller dishes on either rack. "Garbage collector" is easy to clean out too! Had to replace rack already though due to plastic wheels and brackets on side...

So Far So Good!

Super Chef 7/17/2019

We've had ours for 3 yrs without any problems. We accidentally snapped one of the wheels on the top shelf. Still works fine, we just have to be a little careful. I came here to review the other wash cycles as we typically use the normal cycle. From now on I think I'm going to be using the 1 hour cycle in most cases. Dishes come out just great in half the time of the normal cycle (about 02:20). Get finger prints off really well on the outside with some mineral oil or baby oil. I wish their was a countdown timer or something on the face of the unit so I knew how much time is left. All buttons and display are covered by countertop when the door is shut. On the other hand it shuts flush into the cabinetry. Cheers!

Product failed after two years

ES1612 6/4/2019

My wife and I have two small children, and need a reliable dishwasher to use daily. We thought we were buying a quality product with the Whirlpool brand, but after 2.5 years of average use and regular cleaning, the motor has stopped working. It seems like this is a frequent problem with this particular model. It seems that the Whirlpool brand is no longer to be trusted. This will be the last Whirlpool product I ever buy.

DIED AFTER 2YRS

Ren1973 5/27/2019

I bought this model 2 yrs ago replacing a older working dishwasher to match my new appliances. Disappointingly, it stop working. I had the expectation that it would last longer than than the older dishwasher I had. I called customer support and they said it will cost me $129 dollars for the service plus the $280 part they suspect that might be the problem . It might be cost effective to buy a new dishwasher.

Such a disappointment

AsiaW 5/27/2019

The dishwasher worked well at first, but after just over ONE year, the motor completely gave out. The replacement part (the motor and impella) will cost us a 3rd of the price of a totally new machine! We take good care of our appliances and regularly cleaned and maintained the dishwasher. I would not waste your money buying this model (WDT780SAEM1).We are so disappointed and frustrated and obviously now feel a distrust towards Whirlpool products altogether.

Biggest waste of money

MZPREZ 5/13/2019

I bought this machine because my husband wanted the whirlpool name. Worst mistake of my life. I use the cascade that came with it and my dishes need to be rewashed when they come out. And can you explain to me how the inside of a dishwasher has black grime inside and the strainer that catches things is black??? I have used several things to clean it but to no avail. I am beginning to think it is what keeps making me sick. Worst investment I have ever made. Whirlpool is NOT what it used to be. Never again will I buy one and if I could give a negative star I would.

Only lasted a year and a half

judy123456 5/1/2019

I spent a lot of money on this unit. The salesman told me it would be worth it because it would last a long time and I would have fewer problems. After 19 months the water pump did not function anymore and had to be replaced. It cost $360 to repair the unit. I also rinsed all dishes and removed all food before running any of the cycles. Within a week of replacing the water pump the Sani rinse cycle no longer worked either. I felt I spent a lot of money for nothing. I will not buy Whirlpool again.

A Little Over One and Done!

OneandDone18 4/10/2019

We upgraded our kitchen and bought this unit a little over a year and a half ago. It was a nice looking, quiet unit, that did its job of cleaning the dishes. We weren't big fans of the rack configuration and the dishes could have been dryer at the completion of the cycle. However, having said that, it did what it was supposed to do. We did not take an extended warranty as our older, cheaper Maytag, lasted over 18 years. In fact, it still worked when it was replaced with this stainless steel beauty. We got almost exactly 18 MONTHS out of this Whirlpool - yes 18 MONTHS! It simply stopped cleaning properly shortly after Christmas of 2018. So we have been washing by hand ever since. I have been researching the problem with this WDT780SAEM for months looking for what I originally thought would be an easy fix. I have come to the realization that it is most likely the circulation pump - at least a $175 USD replacement part. Now I know that we are quickly becoming a "throwaway" society, but come on now, Whirlpool, a year and a half is all we get? We actually rinsed each and every dish before it was even put into this dishwasher... that was time (and water) wasted as it turns out. We're sorry, but this will be the one and only Whirlpool dishwasher for our household. to say we are disappointed, is a massive understatement.

Buy a Different Brand

SMB2 3/12/2019

A major appliance purchase should last years. This diswasher didnt last 3 years. The tub is leaking from the bottom and repair costs are nearly as much as a new dishwasher. Costumer service was not helpful so we will be purchasing a different brand this time.

Won't buy again

Lost12Many 3/5/2019

Bought this dishwasher and began having problems with it after 9 months. Contacted whirlpool and the went through a process with us to get it going. It worked for a couple more months and then had the same issue again. Contacted Whirlpool to be told our warranty had expired two weeks ago. We paid for a service call to be told the parts would be $500 and then labor on top of that. For what we paid for our dishwasher we should certainly get more than 9 months of proper usage out of it. Go buy a different brand and hope for better customer service.

I'm Angry Every Time I Use It

AngryKitchen 2/7/2019

This is a great dishwasher for people who love to hand wash dishes and use their dishwasher as a drying rack. It would also be an appropriate choice for anyone with a very low standard of cleanliness. However, if you have a family of four (as I do) and generally rinse your dishes and put them in the dishwasher, and then expect that running said dishwasher will result in clean dishes, you will be bitterly disappointed. If I forced my cat to wash dishes, he'd do a better job, even with the hairballs. I'd give it negative stars if possible.

Terrible Dishwasher

Fred25639 1/1/2019

We bought this dishwasher less than 2 years ago from the Home Depot. Within 6 months we replaced all the rollers and upper rack mechanism to the tune of $200. Now the main board has gone. This was our first Whirlpool purchase and will never buy a product made by this company again. It should be noted that the upper rack mechanism, the rollers and the main board are all listed on Whirlpool's website as being "redesigned". That is double speak for "oops we made an engineering error" Don't buy one of these machines. We are going with LG!

Whirlpool could do better

Miss my old appliances 11/14/2018

I bought an entire kitchen of whirlpool appliances a little over 2 years ago-the free standing ice maker has never worked properly for longer than a month and the least little hard water scale causes it to stop making ice altogether-but that's not the issue at hand-this dishwasher has really disappointed me in whirlpool-it had never really washed the dishes and will half way dry them occasionally if the rinse aid is topped off -now it's seriously completely stopped washing the dishes-I here it relay switching through the cycle but its not washing the dishes-so I read hundreds of these other reviews and realize that they are all having the same problems-faulty motor faulty pump-at what point does whirlpool recall this garbage? I decided to write this review after i sat on hold with whirlpool only to find out that they can send out a repair man at my expense-this is nuts-we didn't break the pump and motor on a new $1000 dishwasher!! The reason I used to buy whirlpool is because you didn't need an extended warranty on their appliances, they used to be quality products but this round of energy efficient filter requiring product requiring faulty meds is for the birds-if I have to pay a repairman and pay for a new motor and pump, I'm going to fold on this lemon and try a different brand of appliance-I'm sorry whirlpool but I'm disappointed with my appliances-

Avoid this model

cstrah 10/15/2018

I purchased this dishwasher from Lowe's approximately 18 months ago and had to replace the water inlet valve about 2 months ago and now the pump and motor assembly have gone bad. My previous dishwasher was 18 years old and still worked but I thought I needed a pretty new one. Wish I still had the old one. This seems to be a common problem so Whirlpool needs to re-engineer this part to make it more robust.

Great while it lasted, dead now

JDLopez 9/18/2018

Worked amazing for about a year, then problems. Not draining, cleaning. Tech came out got it working again. Then, 2 weeks ago, completed died. Bad motor and pump. Seems to be a VERY common problem. See reviews below. Thank gawd we bought the extended warranty. It's a hassle calling them up every year to get someone out here. It's sad that we can no longer depend on Whirlpool products anymore and can only expect them to last a year.

Never Again

Benji01920481230 9/13/2018

Purchased dishwasher on 7/4/16 for approx. $500 with a 2 year warranty. Issues started August '18, a month outside of the warranty. Called a non-Whirlpool appliance repair person who said the motor needs to be replaced. Quoted $300 to fix. This is a pretty major part to be failing at two years. He also said all of these dishwashers eventually leak- not a matter of if, just when. So, he also recommended a leak pan, which would cost another $100 total. Finally got through to Whirlpool and they offered to pay for parts, which is about $150, but their repair person charges $115/hour. We decided to cut our losses and go with another brand. We liked the dishwasher while it worked.

Horrible purchase

Amymhatc 9/10/2018

Horrible purchase 2 years old and the pump and motor failed. Over $350 to replace it. Purchased all new whirlpool appliances for our kitchen update. The dishwasher failed and one of the switches in the stove went bad after a year. Expensive parts and costs for repair is ridiculous. Whirlpool basically said I was out of luck with the stove and to purchase the new part. Haven't had the stove repaired yet and the dishwasher fails. Brand new appliances that lasted less than 2 years. We are done purchasing Whirlpool. Look at other brands people.

First Review Deleted

kjpublic2 9/7/2018

Whirlpool deleted my first review - I ssupect they are removing several to hide the truth of their poor products. Original Review: bought this Whirlpool Dishwasher (WDT780SAEM) from Home Depot in February 2016. The dishwasher worked for about 18 months,my previous washer (not whirlpool) laster for 12 years. This washer was a lot quieter than my previous one. Then it stopped cleaning - which quicky got worse. The dishwasher fills provides good steam but no washing...not even enough to disolve the soap. The problem is the pump/circulation motor is bad. Based on some research, this appears to be a common and known problem for Whirlpool. Needless to say I am now shopping for a new dishwasher, and it will NOT be a whirlpool brand!

DO NOT BUY

I purchased over 3500 dollars in whirlpool appliances a year and a half ago with this being one of them during a remodel. Right after the warranty it has bit the dust with F5, E2,F7, and E1 codes under normal operating conditions. I have replaced the door latch, and troubleshot this unit until I am blue in the face. Stay far away from this model. All the other appliances have worked great. stove, fridge, washer, dryer, etc.

Pump / Motor Broke after 1.5 Years

amod 8/18/2018

I bought this dishwasher in November of 2016 and installed the dishwasher in February of 2017. The dishwasher stopped washing dishes and mold is growing inside. I contacted an appliance repair specialist to come look at it, and they notified me that the pump / motor is broken and needs to be replaced. The quote they gave me to replace the pump / motor is $425! I am extremely disappointed with this product and do not recommend it to anyone unless Whirlpool fixes this issue. Based on the recent reviews it seems like I am not the only one experiencing this issue.

Pretty and quiet- but died after 13 months

Colorado mama 8/16/2018

We replaced a 12+ yo Kenmore that worked great but was loud with this beauty. The cycles are long, but we ran it once a day in the evenings and loved it for 13 months. Now it no longer washes, but steams the dirty dishes. After running thru the troubleshooting guide and cleaning the arms, checking the float and valves and intake, we have discovered that the warranty is only 12 months and we mostly likely have a broken wash pump/motor. Now we are looking at a $400 fix...or just replacing it with a new GE for about the same price as a service call.

Really Disappointed!

Nonie2 8/14/2018

Lasted just 2 years! We bought this high end dishwasher and it stopped working completely. We spent a weekend trying to clean and check everything. Today I paid a repairman to come and tell me that the circulation pump is broken and will take $400 to fix! I bought the appliance in 2016 for $600+tax and installation. The part itself is $175. This is a major part breakdown very early, we are very disappointed.

Works great - but only for a year

dissapointed98 8/11/2018

Bought the dishwasher new in May 2016; it worked great for a year until the circulation pump failed right before the July 4 weekend. Replaced the pump and motor assembly and had another year of clean dishes. It has been exactly 13 mo since replacement and the circulation pump fails again. I guess this is how Whirlpool and its suppliers make money.

EZY E 7/25/2018

We purchased this item to replace the older dishwasher the began to fail and becoming very noisy. The new Whirlpool dishwasher is very quiet and does an excellent job cleaning. We are very pleased with this purchased.

Worked fine until just after Warranty expired

justsaytim 7/21/2018

Bought pretty happy with it since we bought in Feb of 2017. Now, there is a plastic bracket that broke off that holds the top basket to the metal bracket. Won't even run until we fix. Can't find parts list yet. And no we didn't abuse it at all.

Two years old and BROKEN

adhughes 6/4/2018

I am so disappointed in this dishwasher. It just passed the two year mark and is on the fritz. Dishes aren't coming clean; motor only works some cycles. I've troubleshooted it to no end - cleaned filters, cleaned spray arms. I didn't buy a high end dishwasher to put more money into it when it's two years old. This is my first Whirlpool purchase and will be my last.

CAUSED A KITCHEN LEAK!!!

frustratedmom 5/29/2018

Only 2 1/2 years old and an insidious leak from the dishwasher leaked UNDER our waterproof flooring. Leaking months most likely, causing mold. Entire kitchen torn apart. Customer services makes you then get 2 estimates to complete paperwork for them to review. The process will probably take years. Very disappointed in Whirlpool. They need to stand by their products.

good product

good brand of dishwasher 5/1/2018

Previous whirlpool owner.this model does not have as many short cycles of wash, and the other cycles take way too long. Do not like the rinse dispenser either. It doesnt hold the product in very well. Much happier with my previous model.

After a year of purchase the top rack gliding mechanism is broken. Whirlpool customer service told me tough luck. This is the last whirlpool appliance I am buying.

I have had mine for a couple of weeks now and it is so quiet you don't even know it's running. It does an awesome job in a timely manner.
