We bought this portable dishwasher two weeks ago after my previous nearly 20 year old Whirlpool portable dishwasher finally stopped working. I've come to trust the Whirlpool brand as highly reliable and wanted to replace the old one with a Whirlpool. This dishwasher has a soil sensor, which was not in my previous one. I was a little bit skeptical, I admit. I tested its capabilities with a sink full of really hard sticky plates and serving dishes that had been sitting in my sink for a couple of days after a crazy busy weekend. To my amazement, EVERY bit of food, ALL the hard stuck-on gunk even in the corners of the casserole dish was sparkling clean!

Doesn't seem to get dishes clean

I purchased this dishwasher in 2014 and it wasn't used in 2015. So it's only had about a year and a half of use. No matter what wash setting is used, it still does not seem to get the dishes washed, even when well rinsed, very carefully placed, and using high temp. I cleaned out the filters and made sure they are in place and tight. But that still does not seem to help.

A great portable dishwasher!

We have enjoyed our new whirlpool dishwasher since summer of 2016. Noticed it ran a lot quieter than our old dishwasher. We keep it on high temperature to get clean dishes, we like the extra heat for sanitized dishes. The only downside is it takes a couple of hours to run thru cycle, but we do like that it saves on energy. Overall we are very happy with the purchase of this dishwasher. We like the fact that we can have it installed in the future with the purchase of the install kit.

This model is quiet and easy to move. Our dishes look great. I'm very happy with the purchase. The only very minor complaint I have is the utensils basket. Its a little small to get for all the utensils we use and seems too short - I'm always afraid our utensils will fly out, though none have so far.

I needed a portable dishwasher as my kitchen cabinets won't take a built in. There is not a lot of selection for portables, but I liked this model as soon as I saw it. It moves easily when empty or full of dishes. It is east to connect and disconnect from the faucet.

We resisted several decades and finally we gave in. We got this practical portable dishwasher that saves water and energy. slides easily from one end of the room to the other, easy to connect to the spout. We pile up the plates and wash only when is full. Does a wonderful job. The bottom shelf has plenty of space for pots and pans. When the cottage was full with family and guests we used to spend hours washing dishes; we now realize we sent more water to the septic washing by hand than using the dishwasher. I have an old Maytag at home that works great, this Whirlpool resembles it.

The bottom of this dishwasher will be much easier to clean when build up occurs which is helpful. Also the design of the bottom will prevent losing small items without knowing it. We are using the dishwasher in a daycare, and it is doing a phenomenal job of cleaning, our old one often had 1/3 to 1/2 the dishes needing to be hand washed after.

I had my older dishwasher for over 25 years and it was beginning to fall apart. So I decided it was time to get a new one. I found out that there isn't to many portable dishwasher available. But I researched the ones that I could. Decided to order Whirlpool Portable Dishwasher with Soil Sensor. I could not be happier It cleans my dishes so well. They shine. I haven't had any leftover residue on any item. The machine is quiet. If I need more wash time I can have it or if I only want 1 hour wash time I can have that. I am a happy buyer.

Easy to use. Works great. Easy to move to the sink to hook it up. My wife can only use one hand/arm do to a disability and she has no trouble moving and hooking up the dishwasher to the sink when I am not around.

I have been without a dishwasher for a year because we moved to our cottage. The last few dishwashers we had by other manufacturers were top of the line but DID NOT clean the dishes. We had gone on a couple vacations over the past year and both places had whirlpool dishwashers (New Hampshire and Eleuthera) and were so impressed by their washing performance! We could not get a built in dishwasher because of our current kitchen layout so we chose the portable. First time with a portable and it works wonderfully. We use the one hour setting (minimal time) and the dishes are spotless with out prior rinsing. The portable aspect is not inconvenient at all because it is so quick and we can still use the kitchen taps. Very happy with the Whirlpool!

Because our kitchen was designed before dishwashers were invented, there really is no place for a dishwasher to be built in. So, instead, we have always had a portable dishwasher (this is our second Whirlpool - the first one lasted more than 20 years). This model fits perfectly next to our stove (the only space available). We don't use the casters and we have the dishwasher plumbed in, so it is no longer "portable." The thing we like the best about this dishwasher, besides the fact that it does a great job cleaning the dishes, is that the butcher block top and black sides match our kitchen PERFECTLY!!! PLUS, being free standing, it gives us even more counter space!!! WE LOVE IT!!!!

Been hand washing dishes for months now! This house is about 100 yrs old. We are renting and weren't able to have one installed. I love it. It works great!! Its easy. I love that it doesn't take up counter space and actually helps as another counter.
