Worst dishwasher I've ever owned.

This is the worst dishwasher I've ever owned. It fails to get food off mostly clean dishes, even with the 8-hour cycle. It NEVER dries anything worth a crap and I have to leave it standing with the door open for a full day to dry out before I can put the dishes away. When I was looking for a new dishwasher a few years ago, I thought that getting a Whirlpool Gold line appliance meant something, the dishwasher I was replacing was half the price and did a much better job washing and drying. The filter is clean, we have a water softener, the rinse aid is full, and we're using a premium detergent, and still, dirty wet dishes after every cycle. Even running a second cycle doesn't fully remove food particles from the dishes, and it's significantly worse if I don't run the 8 hour cycle every time. The dishwasher appears to be working correctly, the heater is functioning, the rinse aid is slowly depleted over time, and the drain and filter covers are clean and not clogged, it's just a poorly designed machine. Even glasses that went in clean come out with food stuck to them that came off other dishes. I will not be purchasing anything from Whirlpool going forward after seeing this piece of garbage from their 'Gold' line if this is representative of their top quality products. But at least is quiet, I guess...

I purchased this from Lowes based on initial reviews and recommendation from reps at several stores. I know believe they were acting on incentives from the manufacturer to push this product line because they had sold almost all instore stock thruout the area It was very picky about what degergent was used to get the dishes clean, then it stated doing a very poor job no matter what, was not completely draining the tub, and finally after almost only 3 years of use, the pump went out and it effectively dead. I would not recommend any whirlpool/maytag product after the experience I had with a top end washer and now this. Seems 3yrs or so is the target for failure. I happened to be looking at dishwashers at the right time and right place at home depot when another product line rep was in the appliance area, heard my story as recited to HD sales rep, they spoke to me about my experience and approved a killer deal on a instock dishwasher of their brand. Bad bearings in the circulation pump

Purchased this dishwasher thinking it was a quality product, built in the US. However, after 2 years, the circulation pump quit working and needed replacing. Thanks to Youtube it was a fairly easy repair, but still cost $100 for a replacement motor, had I not done the repairs myself it would have cost about another $3-400. The motor replacement/repair was fairly easy to do so someone at WP thought that part out...however, the motor has carbon bearings which while useful since they don't need lubrication, but they don't last, I suspect this is why this product is no longer made...planned obsolescence, shame on you WP, shame shame shame... Racks are solid and well made compared to other brands/models, but product only carried a one year warranty. I am writing this hoping that someone at Whirlpool will see it and hopefully design products that will last, with 5+ year warranties instead of 1 year warranties. The US used to make quality products, why can't we make them now? I'm sure your designers are working on dishwashers that will be IOT ready (internet of things). Frankly, as a consumer, I'd rather have a dishwasher that I know will last 10-20 years without a service call than one that will only last 2 years but will tell my iphone that it's broken. Pull your heads out of your collective heinies and go back to building a quality product that will last.

Motor broke multiple times in 3 years!!!

I was so excited to purchase this high end dishwasher, but that joy faded quickly when the motor and thermostat needed replacing within the first weeks of ownership. Now, 3 years later the motor needs replacing again. I reached out to Whirlpool customer service and was told that these things happen and they could not help me. Disappointed to find that they do not care about "everyday care" as they claim. Aside from the issues it has with the motor, you cannot place taller pieces of silverware like butter knives near the soap dispenser as it blocks the door from opening. Also, there have been instances where the door has leaked puddles of water on the floor.

We bought this dishwasher in February 2015. Like the silverware being able to go outside the bottom basket to create more room for dishes, the little fold down shelf in the top basket (perfect for long utensils or some additional small items). Cleaned dishes well...until the pump died July 2018. Appliances aren't built like they used to be, but 3.5 years is a ridiculously short amount of time.

Have owned this dishwasher for a year now and it does not dry the dishes at all no matter what setting or with the rinse aid per instructions. Ran a cycle on Sunday and did not put them away until Friday and things were dripping wet, especially the silverware and plastics. The silverware does not always get clean. I have tried the basket on the door and placing it on the bottom rack. All my appliances are Whirlpool which I normally like. This one is a disappointment.

Frequent failure to clean dishes, breakdowns

I bought this dishwasher 3.5 years ago and it has had repeated failures. It has required service every year we have owned it and now the extended warranty is expired and it is once again not cleaning dishes. The soap tabs just sit in the bottom undissolved. Everything from the heater coil and solenoids to the computer board have quit working and required replacement. I will not buy Whirlpool again.

After 1.5 years it has stopped cleaning the dishes. Soap doesn't dissolve. It seems to have stopped spraying the water around. We have cleaned the filters, removed debris. Very disappointed and it's just outside of it's warranty period.

I bought this dishwasher about two weeks ago and I am very pleased with it. I only use it every few days and yet the dishes are coming out sparkling clean with no residue. Dishes a bit wet when done but easily solved by leaving the door open for a few minutes.

I have had my new dishwasher for a few weeks now and love it. When I run it, it's usually at end of day as cycle takes a while. I didn't like silverware holder at first, but now I like it. Make sure it is attached properly.

I installed this dishwasher 1 and one-half years ago as part of a kitchen remodel. Now it does not wash. It fills, drains, and runs through it's cycles. I have cleaned the filters and checked for debris. That leaves the pump/motor apparently. I like the unit and WAS considering buying one of these for another kitchen remodel I am doing but not now. On top of that, the Whirlpool web site doesn't recognize my login credentials from when I registered the thing. Inspires confidence doesn't it.

Dishwasher review...I bought new WHIRLPOOL over the stove microwave, oven, dishwasher & fridge almost 3 years ago...biggest mistake as a first time home owner...& I paid for extended warranties on these products...so far I've had to replace the door & parts to the MICROWAVE because it errors and gives a message to open/close the door before heating up anything...happened within 6 months...replaced parts after instructions to unplug/replug failed...AGAIN, less than 6 months later same error message, left unplugged until repair guy came...it worked, so there was nothing that could be done...ok, worked a few months more & had SAME error message...left unplugged over night, worked for a couple months & then same error message...I bought my appliances NEW...again, microwave not working again...With the fridge, products never really seem frozen even after temperature is increased...ice bucket takes about 2 full days to refill itself & frozen foods are semi frozen...Im typically buying a 20lb bag of ice per week...dishwasher soap dispenser door was replaced in the first 6 months & only cleans the dishes when food is washed off prior to placing in the machine...even after trying multiple different cycles & dishwashing soaps...there are only 2 adults & 1 teen in the household using these appliances since purchased...older, previous fridge took up less space & held more items & after replacing appliances with EnergyStar rating, electric and water bills have increase...NEVER had any problems with old appliances that came with the purchase of the house.

Purchased Nov 2016 based on ratings and the Bisque color. It is quiet (but not silent) and cleans well. I do not put pans in the dishwasher, and have mainly used the One-Hour wash cycle. I clean the filter about once a month and use a rinse-aid as recommended. Didn't think I would care for the silverware rack on the door, but now see the advantages of that arrangement. Viewed and priced at a big-box store, purchased from local appliance store, and they met the sale price. Have had no problems.

I bought this dishwasher one week ago and the first thing that overwhelmed me was how long it takes for the wash cycle. 2.5 hours is so very long. That being said it is so so very quiet. you really can't hear it run. And the dishes are very clean!

Got this about a month ago...love it so far..very quiet...cleans well...I really wish it dried the cups and glasses better..they usually stay wet even with the heated dry feature on..not on the inside but on the outside...overall very happy

The cleaning capability of this dishwasher is excellent. I do not care for the silverware tray in the door. It is difficult to put the utensils in and take them out. The running g cycle is 3 1/2 hours. It feels like it takes all day or all night. Dishes come out very clean and mostly dry.

I am so excited. It doesn't take much to make me happy but my new dishwasher is the best gift I received this year.After suffering with my last dishwasher that was so noisy; you could hear it outside; I keep checking this one to see if it's running.I don't have to check and see if the dishes need to be re washed or embarrassed if the silverware has left over food on it. This dishwasher cleans it all !!!!!!
