We originally purchased this dishwasher in January 2016. We thought we were paying for a quality piece of equipment, stainless steel tub, that was not the case!! It worked for 8 months and then completely quit working. We had a repairman out at least 10 times and he couldn't figure out what was wrong with it so it became my personal battle to deal with. By the time the repairman had been out all those times it was past the expiry date of the warranty and I was initially told I was on my own even though the issue occured well within warranty. At that point I spent months arguing with Whirpool, I sent multiple videos showing the issues and after months of emailing they agreed to send me a replacement. I have now had the replacement for just over a year and it is ALSO NOT WORKING!!! Lucky for Whirlpool, the warranty is only valid from the purchase of the initial dishwasher so they were "off the hook". I called and asked if there was anyway they would be willing to help, even just partially, considering the dishwasher would also have been within its warranty period, but was told flat out that they would not help at all. I have had a "new" Whirpool dishwasher for 30 months and yet I've bewn handwashing dishes for a good portion of those months!! So disappointing from a company like Whirpool.

Motor broke multiple times in 3 years!!!

I was so excited to purchase this high end dishwasher, but that joy faded quickly when the motor and thermostat needed replacing within the first weeks of ownership. Now, 3 years later the motor needs replacing again. I reached out to Whirlpool customer service and was told that these things happen and they could not help me. Disappointed to find that they do not care about "everyday care" as they claim. Aside from the issues it has with the motor, you cannot place taller pieces of silverware like butter knives near the soap dispenser as it blocks the door from opening. Also, there have been instances where the door has leaked puddles of water on the floor.

We bought this dishwasher in February 2015. Like the silverware being able to go outside the bottom basket to create more room for dishes, the little fold down shelf in the top basket (perfect for long utensils or some additional small items). Cleaned dishes well...until the pump died July 2018. Appliances aren't built like they used to be, but 3.5 years is a ridiculously short amount of time.

Have owned this dishwasher for a year now and it does not dry the dishes at all no matter what setting or with the rinse aid per instructions. Ran a cycle on Sunday and did not put them away until Friday and things were dripping wet, especially the silverware and plastics. The silverware does not always get clean. I have tried the basket on the door and placing it on the bottom rack. All my appliances are Whirlpool which I normally like. This one is a disappointment.

We have had this dishwasher for a few years now and have had to replace the heating element multiple times. It doesn't clean dishes well and never dries them regardless of what settings we use. Very disappointed with this dishwasher and will think twice about purchasing a whirlpool again.

Frequent failure to clean dishes, breakdowns

I bought this dishwasher 3.5 years ago and it has had repeated failures. It has required service every year we have owned it and now the extended warranty is expired and it is once again not cleaning dishes. The soap tabs just sit in the bottom undissolved. Everything from the heater coil and solenoids to the computer board have quit working and required replacement. I will not buy Whirlpool again.

I installed this dishwasher 1 and one-half years ago as part of a kitchen remodel. Now it does not wash. It fills, drains, and runs through it's cycles. I have cleaned the filters and checked for debris. That leaves the pump/motor apparently. I like the unit and WAS considering buying one of these for another kitchen remodel I am doing but not now. On top of that, the Whirlpool web site doesn't recognize my login credentials from when I registered the thing. Inspires confidence doesn't it.

Dishwasher review...I bought new WHIRLPOOL over the stove microwave, oven, dishwasher & fridge almost 3 years ago...biggest mistake as a first time home owner...& I paid for extended warranties on these products...so far I've had to replace the door & parts to the MICROWAVE because it errors and gives a message to open/close the door before heating up anything...happened within 6 months...replaced parts after instructions to unplug/replug failed...AGAIN, less than 6 months later same error message, left unplugged until repair guy came...it worked, so there was nothing that could be done...ok, worked a few months more & had SAME error message...left unplugged over night, worked for a couple months & then same error message...I bought my appliances NEW...again, microwave not working again...With the fridge, products never really seem frozen even after temperature is increased...ice bucket takes about 2 full days to refill itself & frozen foods are semi frozen...Im typically buying a 20lb bag of ice per week...dishwasher soap dispenser door was replaced in the first 6 months & only cleans the dishes when food is washed off prior to placing in the machine...even after trying multiple different cycles & dishwashing soaps...there are only 2 adults & 1 teen in the household using these appliances since purchased...older, previous fridge took up less space & held more items & after replacing appliances with EnergyStar rating, electric and water bills have increase...NEVER had any problems with old appliances that came with the purchase of the house.

Purchased Nov 2016 based on ratings and the Bisque color. It is quiet (but not silent) and cleans well. I do not put pans in the dishwasher, and have mainly used the One-Hour wash cycle. I clean the filter about once a month and use a rinse-aid as recommended. Didn't think I would care for the silverware rack on the door, but now see the advantages of that arrangement. Viewed and priced at a big-box store, purchased from local appliance store, and they met the sale price. Have had no problems.

The cleaning capability of this dishwasher is excellent. I do not care for the silverware tray in the door. It is difficult to put the utensils in and take them out. The running g cycle is 3 1/2 hours. It feels like it takes all day or all night. Dishes come out very clean and mostly dry.

I bought this as a replacement for the "exact" model from 2001. The features of this machine allow you to accommodate each wash cycle so you get the best wash. It does everything it claims. Also, it is very quiet...I was surprised! My only issue (not specific to this particular dishwasher) is the wash cycles take forever. I learned, from speaking with others, that the energy efficiency of all the newer dishwashers has increased the was time. Remember, I replaced a model from 2001. Definitely recommend this machine!!

This dishwasher does a great job is quiet and has the in door silverware caddy which is a plus. The only thing I don't like is that the top rack adjustment is very sensitive and drops down if you lift at all when pulling the top rack forward. I am happy for the energy efficiency but the normal wash cycle is over 3 hours long.

Diswasher looks great but is just average in performance. It does not dry well so I turned off heated dry and let it air dry. That saves an hour of heat time which doesn't complete the job.

Great dishwasher!

Dishes and silverware get clean every time. Quieter than we expected, a nice bonus. Would be five stars but the tab on the silverware basket broke in first week of operation. Whirlpool is sending us a whole new basket, though, free of charge.

So far the dishwasher is working fine - I have only used the one hour wash. I am using my utensil caddy from my previous dishwasher, because it has a greater capacity.

This dishwasher is so quiet and does a great job cleaning the dishes! I love the adjustable rack and the fold down spindles so I can fit odd shaped dishes perfectly. The targeted spray was a wonderful idea.

I don't normally review items, but I just had to review this dishwasher. We've owned a lot of dishwashers over our long 30+ yr marriage & many houses we've owned. This is BY FAR the best one! The dishwasher uses less energy than any of the others, is quieter (even though the others claimed the same decibel), everything is clean and dry. We always wash on a normal cycle with sani rinse and heated dry cycles and put the drying liquid in the automatic dispenser. All the items are dry and the inside of the unit is dry. My plastics, as they always do, still have water on the sill that they have, but that IS normal with EVERY dishwasher. I also love the way the door is, it doesn't have a section that comes out...so I don't have it sticking out past the cabinets like others I've owned. I've got to get out of the habit of pulling the bottom rack by the front...especially since the I put the silverware holder there. The unit holds everything well. The silverware holder is different than my last one...not as thick for me to put travel mug lids into...but I've found other places to put them. I can honestly say this is just a wonderful unit. I also liked that a lot of it, including the assembly was done in the USA....big selling point.....I want to keep one of my fellow American's employed. This unit meet all my needs and then some. I wasn't going to get it at first (was going to get another of the models), but my husband said "lets get something that will last and have everything we need"......it does and then some. I've so delighted!
