This cooktop is on a Jennair range. While cooking pasta, heard a load pop, then notice a huge crack. This appliance was four years old. That breaks down to about $500.00/year. Not worth it!

I bought this 1 year ago and the top has scratched very badly, it no longer looks very good and if it continues to deteriorate at this rate I will have to replace it. We try to be very careful with it and it works well but it is far too fragile!

We bought this cook top less than two years ago One eye in the back takes an extra long time to heat, but we dealt with it because we don't use that one very often.
BUT my big disappointment was the giant chip in the glass. While cleaning up after a normal dinner I cut myself on the edge of the stove. Nothing remarkable had happened but the glass was broken. I don't use heavy iron skillets and have no idea how the chip occurred. But the glass is chipped and there is now a crack going across the corner of the cook top. I would expect something more durable from whirlpool. Super disappointed.

Two years after light use, the largest burnet started either to heat to Max and burn food or does not heat at all. Then stopped working altogether. Very disappointed.

I have installed this new appliance for two weeks now and my wife likes it very much. There is one thing though she doesn't like and it's the black and clear ceramic glass. The one we had before had a kind of design in it and was much easier to clean and it did look a lot better . . .

We have had this cooktop for a month and are totally satisfied. The only thing about it that we found a little curious was the different nomenclatures for the minimum heat settings on the burners. Two of them go from "High to Low" but the other two have minimum settings called "melt" and "simmer." We wonder if these two burners actually produce temperatures that are lower than "low." Maybe our fault for not reading the owners' manual yet!

I had the Gold Plus and unfortunately my husband dropped a heavy pan on it and it broke. We wanted to keep the same brand, Whirlpool, because all of my appliances are Whirlpool and they are over 20 years old and working great. We made the mistake of going for the cheaper Whirlpool instead of the Gold and getting it to shine is a real mission. Cannot recommend this particular model but love the Whirlpool brand.

Good, but scratched

This was in the new house we recently bought. So far it has worked pretty good. The only reason that I gave it a 4 star instead of a 5 is because its already scratched. We were doing some cooking for a housewarming party and we think it was one of the ceramic pots that scratched it. It wasn't a major scratch, but you think it'd last longer than a month before it started to wear.

The 4 elements all cook differently. 3 are very slow. The large one in the front works the best but even this one is terrible. It's slow to heat up and then burns things very quickly. I have to constantly check the food, way more than should be necessary. It's fine for boiling. I wish I never bought this cooktop. It also scratches very easily and is difficult to clean. Never again.

Not every 30 " cooktop will fit into a granite countertop hole has a replacement. After only 7 years a burner just suddenly stopped working. The 30" replacement cooktop is now made about 1/4 in more in depth and will not fit. Can't find a replacement in this line -- horrible situation!

So far I love my new stovetop. We were told we had to order as it was not in stock. The display was Schott Ceran glass top but it came I'm with the cheaper K glass. I have used it 2 months now and have not had any issues so far, so hoping this won't be an issue in time.

. Easy installation, looks good, easy to clean. Preforms as advertised. Time will tell if it lasts as long as the replaced Whirlpool coil-top electric,{ 30 years}. Were careful to not drop a heavy object on its glass/ceramic appearing material. But then we weren't in the habit of doing that w/the former stove. My wife loves it, its her kitchen so if she's happy w/it so am I. Especially like the safety lights warning of a hot surface even after the burner has been turned off.

I bought this stove top 3 weeks ago. It cooks so evenly and cools down quickly.it is hard to keep the film off after wiping with dishcloth. Drying with a dry paper towel works fine to remove film.

Delayed replacing old coil top for years because of concerns with a glass cooktop and I didn't want gas. Have had this installed for about 4 months and think its great. No problem with cleaning with Weiman spray. Haven't had anything burn on and no scratches. Heats quickly. Would have liked more markers around the knobs to gauge position for boiling on each burner. I have a white dishwasher and stainless fridge and I think the black smooth top with white specks and white knobs help tie things together better than a stainless or white enamel top would have. Overall, am happy. Should have done it sooner.
