We have had this cooktop about 2 months now and I am super disappointed in it. It is basically a 3 burner stove, the way I cook. The double elements on the right side would be useful only if I were to be using a giant rectangular pan, which I never would use on a cooktop. So, I can use only the upper right burner, and only the "single" feature. The pans have to be within a half-inch of fitting over the burner, which eliminates my medium-sized skillets and pans. On the left side, the back burner is okay as "single" but when you try to use the double for a larger pot, it is extremely slow and keeps cutting on and off. It took forever to get a dutch oven sized pan to boil 3 chicken breasts last week! The front left burner is small, too, and works pretty fast. But alas, again, larger pans can't be used there. The warming burner in the center back I'm sure is nice but I never use it...I can think of one recipe I have that requires melting butter slowly. This thing was expensive and my granite countertops had to be cut according to the size of the thing so I am stuck, basically. I really had wanted the electric coils, like I had before. They took a lot of punishment and kept on working--and the size of the pan wasn't nearly as critical, as mostly everything worked just fine. The ONLY thing I like is the ease of cleanup, so far, when I have a spill. Heaven help, though, if something ever boils over--it will be an incredible mess!!

I had this cooktop for less than 2 years and had to replace the heat switch. The large right side element stopped heating up. I had to spend over $300 for a repair person to come and fix it. Now it has happened again. Very disappointed with owning this stove for just 2 years. Whirlpool used to make quality products. Not anymore.

I have about 30 bubbles underneather the glass....I tried to razor blade them off and nada...it seems IN the glass or other neath. I will be calling. I can't handle it looking spot dirty when it isn't.

"Easy wipe" but impossible to clean

I have to use a razor blade to clean the surface, always concerned about scratching. Sure it's easy-wipe. But wiping isn't cleaning. I bought the Whirlpool cleaning kit, but it's worthless. The cleaning compound is difficult to remove, leaving streaks. The compound itself works only with the razor blade. Still I have some spots that will be there forever.

I've only had this cooktop for a couple months, but so far I'm not very happy with it. I still haven't completely figured out how all of the burners work despite reading the manual. My biggest issue is that I have yet to find anything to clean it that works well. After trying various cooktop cleaning products, I still have streaks after cleaning. Also, having to remove the knobs after cooking every time to clean around them is a poor design feature.

Nice even heat, easy to control knobs. I must say its a lot of work to keep clean, but I suspect all glass top ranges are the same. Cleans up nice with cook-top cleaner.

Bought this based upon measurements to replace an old 4 burner Thermador. It fit perfectly, and has the added warmer burner. Do not use ammonia-based glass cleaner or dish soap, or the glass cooktop may stain. Buy the manufacturer's recommended cooktop cleaner and ckean with it. Simmer feature is nice, and dual zone burners work well. Cook temperatures are easily regulated, and cooking is very even.

I have had this cook-top for a few weeks and like how quickly it heats my food. My only complaint is that the settings are so hard to see and that some burners are turned to the left to become hot while others are turned right to become hot.

My Whirlpool Gold 36" Electric/Ceramic Glas cooking top replaces my Whirlpool 4 element with center grill which served me for over 25 years. It was this original service period that drew me back to the Brand after an extended period of investigation for a replacement stove top. Cook top cooks wonderfully. My second ceramic cooktop and I love the larger size. Heats quickly. I'm not fond of the control in the center. I'm a shorter lady and I have to reach over them to cook on the back. I prefere the controls on the side. Also, even with cook top cleaner...getting the streaks off this top is a chore.

I am okay with the overall functionality of the stove top. HOWEVER, we have only had it since May of 2014, and already (October 2015) 3/5 of the knobs have broken. The PLASTIC...(plastic is cheap) split on the cylindrical part that holds onto the metal control switch. I would really like some better quality knobs, and feel that the broken ones should be replaced waaaay cheaper than $15 something each, especially if my only replacement option are the inadequate plastic knobs. Also there is no consistency on which way to turn the burners for high or low...so you have to check each time. It would be nice if HIGH was always to the top or left, and LOW was always to the bottom or right. this isn't the case.

It would have cost $5000 to run a gas line, my first choice. I don't like cleaning the glass top after each meal. It does look pretty. I don't think one burner is working correctly, but I will call the place where I bought it. Thank you for sending the cleaning kit, it has helped. Being 70 it's hard to get use to something new.

I bought this stove top as part of a new construction. We designed the specks of our kitchen based on the stove top. We could t be happier. We purchased this cook top to replace an older model. This unit has not only a good look,but also newer better features that updates our kitchen. The newer larger pots and pans can now be used and cooking seems to be faster as well as easier. Great cook top.

Based on my previous experience I chose to go with an Electric cooktop rather than gas. But the previous make took a little more time to heat up. The Whirlpool Gold cooktop is amazing, that it takes very little time to warm up and cooking has become much quicker.
