This is the first Amana appliance we have owned. Small enough to be located in basement, garage or anywhere in the house. Big enough to hold 156 pounds of beef (hind quarter) and plenty of frozen peaches, which we like to freeze each year. Which we did today! The dealer (Cruppers appliance in South Huchinson, Ks.) had the price, which included delivery and set up.(Taxes were additional of course.) Other dealers and big box stores showed a lower price, but delivery was extra and they did not have it in stock like Cruppers. We also had a freezer the basement which we had for 20 years. He agreed to bring it out of the basement and put it in the garage for us. Our son will end up with that one. Hoping to get at least 20 years out of this one which will make me 91, in the prime of life!

We we have lived off-grid for 25 years. Recently we made a decision to upgrade our entire refrigeration system. Our Amana 5.3 cubic foot freezer is so efficient that we hardly see any increased draw-down from our battery storage. After the purchase of 2 hanging aftermarket baskets, the interior space is very organized and easily adjusted. We now have the ability to purchase and store food bargains, make plenty of ice, freeze garden produce, wild fish and game.

I got this Compact Amana Freezer in some kind of urgent. My 13 years old freezer stopped working @7:00PM (may be earlier). I went to the shop and only 1 left. This Amana is smaller than my previous one but works great. It got cool right away and very quiet . So far I have no issue with ịt

We bought this freezer to go in our fifth-wheel camper to give us additional frozen food space. It works perfectly! The unit itself is lightweight and super quiet. I like the adjustable thermostat although we have not had to move it as it stays right around zero degrees. I also like the power indicator light and compressor on light. This is a very nice unit!

There's not much to say about a small chest freezer. It's small and everything in it is frozen, which is just what we wanted. I'm wary because this is our second small chest freezer; the first broke just past warranty (we'd had it a little over a year). Getting it repaired would have cost twice as much as the freezer. It's taken me a couple of years to replace it because I didn't want that experience again. So, I don't feel like a review of this freezer, that I've only had for two weeks, is meaningful. I don't know if it's energy efficient and I don't know if it works great. I'll have a more confident opinion in 3 years, and perhaps a glowing review in ten years. This is not a negative review, it's an I-have-no-idea realistic review. I wouldn't recommend it to a friend; I would tell a friend to really shop around and buy the extended warranty.

We recently purchased the Amana 5.3 cu. ft. compact freezer to replace a 1990 model 15.2 cu. ft. freezer. We are downsizing now that our family is grown and on their own. So far, I have been totally happy with the Amana freezer! It cooled down very quickly and compressor doesn't need to run very often to keep items frozen. It is very convenient to access items (even at the bottom where I "lost" things in the old freezer!) and easy to keep clean. This is a great freezer for anyone who does not need a LOT of extra space but more than what is available in the freezer with the fridge. Go Amana!

I bought this about a month ago and have not had any issues so far. I've also purchased the extended warranty from the retail business I purchased the freezer from but don't believe I will need to utilize it. Small and light, doesn't take up a lot of space. I wanted a freezer to leave in my garage for a little extra space and only time will tell how this freezer performs through the season changes. To sum everything up, I'm a happy customer so far! It's only been a couple months, but I'm happy with it so far. Runs very quiet and everything is extremely frozen, as it should be! Seems like a good freezer for the price. Was happy to find the Amana brand...our old Amana refrigerator is 24 years old and still going strong!

This freezer works good and I like the indicator lights on the front to indicate when the unit has power and when the compressor is running. Never have to guess if it tripped a breaker. It had a seal issue and was creating frost on the back inside top lip of the chest. The service guy came out the first time and just took the seal off and put it back on. This didn't fix it. He then finally came back weeks later and found a small hole in the seal. Instead of replacing the seal, which he didn't even bring a new one with him knowing what the original issue was, he used some RTV to fill the hole. It is working for now, but the seal should have been replaced instead of patched. I wasn't home at the time. My fear is I will have seal issues once it it out of warranty.

After moving from our home of 35 years to a beautiful active over 50 community, we quickly discovered the frig provided had a freezer too small for us. We looked all over and founf this Amana beauty and it fits of needs perfectly. Its size is perfect to fit directly into a closet and it is so very quiet too. The wheels help us move it out to clean. THe cover goes straight up so there is little clearance needed behind the unit. Bought at Homedepot and was delivered as scheduled with no issues by nice men.

At first, I received this freezer and it was not working. All the lights worked, it made all the right noises, just was not freezing. Got it replaced with the same one - and now - its GREAT! Quiet, cools well, economical - just the right freezer for me and my family. I understand that anyone can have bugs - thats why I gave Amana another chance and I an glad I did. Perfect freezer for a great price. I'd recommend it overall.

We bought this freezer to keep food and breastmilk frozen and it works as expected. My only complaint is that if you let the door slam and vacuum shut, it's very difficult to open the door unless you wait for the vacuum to come unstuck by itself.

This product was delivered a few months ago. Delivery people were great. We noticed a crimp in 2 places on the rubber gasket around the lid. Other reviews had mentioned that they had the same problem and that it caused an ice build-up on the inside. Being aware of this, we still decided to accept the product, rather than send it back. And, as expected, we do get a very small ice build-up, but it doesn't seem to affect the freezers ability to freeze. Other than that problem, we love it.

My research prior to buying ranked this highest among chest freezers this size. True as this may be, its missing needed features and has other drawbacks as well. I guess someone decided small should also be economical, but for us, small was necessary, and we would have gladly paid more for more features. For instance, ice accumulates by the lid, so why isn't there a heat element there to prevent this? The freezer needs a bigger basket and maybe some shelves. As it is, the basket is tiny and everything else can only be stacked one atop another starting at the bottom. Why not some shelves or baskets (at different heights) for better organization? And when you add things to freeze, where can you put them to keep separate from already frozen things, so as not to cause any thawing of the frozen things? Seems to me more thinking should have gone into the design, or maybe offer some options for those who are willing to pay extra.

The physical size [dimensions] of this chest freezer is perfect for my available home space. Amana has a well-earned reputation for mfg reliable and long lived appliances. That is why I chose Amana over other competitive brands. I have had no problems with my freezer to date but I would like to have had a light within the freezer when the lid is opened.
